So what skills and experience do we need you to be able to demonstrate?

Management Experience

From day one you will be responsible for the development and running of your business. Yes, you will have all the help and support you need from your franchisor’s team, but you will be responsible for managing your business. Even before you start to trade you will be responsible for recruiting staff and guiding them through their training programme. You will also need to implement the pre-launch marketing programme that will allow your new business to hit the ground running. The Massage Company is very much a ‘people business’. Your staff will interact on a close, one-to one basis with your customers and it will be your responsibility to manage their activities in a way that continuously enhances the relationship between customers and your business.

Business Development

You will be responsible for growing the business to achieve a dominant position in your location. Remember, The Massage Company is the only business of its type in the UK and has a monopoly at the moment but that may change in future. You, therefore, need to establish your business as quickly and as profitably as you can.

Customer Service Focus

You will need to be passionate not only about the success of the business but also the improvements in well-being that your customers achieve by using your services. The Membership format will encourage customers to remain with you but the service they receive will be the key driver to retaining them as long-term customers.

Financial Management

Whilst the systems and processes for managing your business finances will be provided by your franchisor, experience of Management Accounts, Profit and Loss and Cashflow management would be advantageous.

You will also need to have access to sufficient investment funds to finance the business and, if you need to borrow additional funds to those you already have, you will need a good credit record.

But above all else you will need to demonstrate a passion for both running a successful business and improving the well-being of your customers and staff.
